tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-295856822024-03-06T07:48:59.240+05:30New Sidhhantaoh! We cannot stop finding new things in life, but when we invent some thing we treat it as good learning and wanna to share with others, in other words would like to publish our Siddhanta(Sanskrit Word) on some forum. Thats what i have done.Madhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.comBlogger36125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29585682.post-22811192225786256832020-05-18T11:34:00.001+05:302020-05-18T11:45:10.974+05:30Health with great PANCHA MAHABHUTAS of nature

Most of us know what are pancha mahabhuta from Indian epics and Indian science backgrounds.

Ref - http://www.ayurvedaamritvani.com/pancha-mahabhutas---five-great-elements.html

Lets know how they got corrupted today

Water - we know its been added with chemicals by factories, shampoo, soaps, plastic.

Air - air is polluted today and we can measure it, polluted by fuel burning, emissions from factories, burning rubber/plastic/oils, cutting trees

Earth - it started with persons whom we used to treat as god [ farmer ] who started putting chemicals into the fertile soil in replacement of organic chemicals just to yield better crops and more outcome so that he can sell and become rich, started using chemicals to magically turn soil to yield different crops, general public putting plastic, adding chemicals, cement and tar roads to block water and air circulations from top-bottom of soil

Aakash - space is fully damaged as the whole water and air cicrulations from earth to space is damaged, oxygen reduced, ozone layer having holes etc

Fire - do you wonder how fire is corrupted? Yes it is. Fire that you get from LPG, oils, burning plastics, candles are all bad fire. That is why to lit a fire there were several rules in the Indian science. We see how quickly some thing comes up but we dont understand how they are bad or harmful and corrupt things.

So friends, where are we living today? we are living in chemical added, polluted environment and our body is also built with PanchaMahabhutas.

Thus we are today getting sugar, cancer, hearth problems more easily than before. Specially those rich people who are locked in their homes are more prone to diseases than poor living outside.

Also, our whole earning need today has become strong just to help ourself for Costly land, costly education and costly hospitals.

Spending good amount of time outside in FRESH air and water really really helps.

I remember whenever we used to feel low at young age in my village Mannur (http://mannurcharitre.blogspot.com/) our elders used to tell put 10 rounds around Banian tree in the temple. [ A temple structure also important today we have spoiled temples as well and made them as party halls ]

What i understand now is: it will give more oxygen and also more pure cool air to breathe and feel elevated.

Today we should understand FRESH air vs. Oxygen rich air.

For diseases like hearth problems:

1. We have enough of glucose in our body [ blood ]

2. we have less oxygen in body [ blood ]

thus causing more clots and more damages to body than before....

Its important to invent some thing through which we be more natural as quoted by Sri Madhwacharya (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madhvacharya)

Many people had confusions on corruption of FIRE here is a simple example.
1. If you do HOMA - contains specific wood sticks to use, pure ghee, herbs and banian tree sticks, burned on a soil platform and may be added with few other items like black Til, cocked rice, dals

Though you will see smoke but none of the people in home feel uneasiness in breathing, fall sick, faint that means the fire and smoke contains sufficient amount of oxygen produced.

2. While building burning or you try burning equal quantity of Candle [ in place of GHEE ] try to see what happens ?

Our inventions claim we are better than past but its wrong. Most of the inventions are business background, corrupt and run by corrupt people as well just for profit.

Innovation / Disruptive mindset:

Pro/Advantages

This gave me good learning on different things to be technically having advantages

Some sort of visibility

Learn some things new and explore product development from scratch.

Self satisfactions

Understand market each time got and idea

Cons/Disadvantages

Time consuming and drains your energy

It will need you to put extra effort which does not come handy when you sit for performance appraisals

It will be challenging to prove any idea worth to pursue unless there is hard needed or 100% aligns with management thoughts

Does not get rewards, promotions unless you are in innovation teams

Rather i found people being successful had following things constantly doing

Worked closely with customers, clients and spent energy with them - get client/customer appreciation

Did what customer wanted by spending time or focus on only those - got promotions / rewards

Had to put less effort in other times and enjoy life rather struggle to prove some one you have idea / thoughts and they dont have clue as what to do or they dont have platforms to help you.

Brought customer issues to solve as ideas - high chances of success, customer feedbacks, appreciations guarantees mostly

so my advise is :

Innovation - if you enjoy or thats way of learning do it

Dont put energy - dont put energy where organization or management is not looking for, you need to prove-prove-prove a lot and no guaranteed returns

Focus on customer issues alone to get success and it gives learning sharp curve as well

Hope my experience helps you

You think i am writing a controversial subject?

Answer is NO, please read it.

Most of the time the question comes to people who practice dharma that: I would have been more successful like others if i had nothing to follow as Dharma.

In another situations it also possible that some one says: due to you being dharmik you can't be successful like others.

So, here overall one try to find that dharma is a kind of obstacle that keeps you slow down in success path.

These days people use some smart words to call this situation as "you are not social", "you have too many restriction put yourself", etc etc. But all same internally.

Here is some thing interesting now. Dharma is like set of laws or policies or best practices that are commonly taught [ note its not taught to just one person or few ]. Thus when all become dharmika even the way of progress is slow but 100% guarantee that there is progress. But what is the difference? The difference itself defines the topic i am talking about.

Dharmika vs. Adharmika
Assume if all employees start following a dharma of not pushing others into trouble, not become too greedy, be happy with what they get. Then there is very less chance of one getting cheated or one getting vs. another not getting. All will get some things based on work and there is growth.
Its like speed limit, all vehicles move but they move in given set of speed limits and rules. Today people who think hey come on i can do like this [ freedom of speech, freedom of energy, freedom to chose any cross paths ], would start spoiling all others as well. Of course more you become unethical, choose all cross roads, break rules you will move faster but dont think you only can do it? Other such fellows will also start using same dirty tricks today or later and now all are put into rat race..., though each feel they are having great success/progress but refer the benefits what i am saying below.
These days many of the Adharmika fellows quote example of "i got a great business idea while drinking in bar and i am successful"? the question is what context you are successful? A prostitute also earns like you by not applying any rules!!!

if you look at most of the organizations today, each of us spend most of our time in solving political, sudden growth, shortcuts to take for success than really solving any of the industry problems. Thus leading every employee into rat race and finally "Karma Phala".

Dharkima Phala
Its success, happiness, good health and pleasant life

vs.

Adharmika Phala
Its short time success, short time happiness, guilt, screwed up health[ home becomes hospital ], and pathetic life for you and society.

So, to get back to the context : Should one feel that he/she following dharma will lead into failure or less growth / success? Answer is NO, you are more happy than any one else and you are not putting any one in trouble too. Thus you lead good life inside and outside organisation/family than any one else. And no fear to live life.....

Be Dharmika and be happy ....

One day i discussed with my father with a question

"Since i have to work for IT company, how its possible for me to worship GOD?"

the question from me was because we get limited amount of time, attention to attire and follow lots of things to worship GOD.

Answer from my father was really excellent and i am proud to practice it for many years now and reaping fruits of it.

These were few points:
1. When you travel to office 25 x 2 = 50 KMS / day treat this as taking rounds in Temple and submit it to GOD as offering from your physical effort.

2. When you accomplish some things offer the accomplishments first to GOD and then to your peers, managers, super boss etc.
[ Notice each person whom you offer will revert with some thing noticeable and think how it will be from GOD offering ? ]

3. Think how can you make some one happy each day either not by pulling their food, success, work effort or playing bad game or politics.
[ Notice making some one happy is tough job and if you are doing it, that itself is great offering to GOD ]

4. When you are supposed to get bonus, hike, increment, promotion be patient enough and always feel that GOD will bless with some things which you can digest or utilize best.
[ Notice one thing who is your boss to give some thing to you? Can he give good peace of mind? can he give good health? Nothing so its GOD who will bless you always and you will get what you have to get always ].

5. Talk good things to peers and friends, put them in good habits or culture that itself is great offering to GOD
[ Notice : Bad culture is what making you happy these days instantly, by offering unlimited drinks, pizza, and many other junk stuffs but check your health report as well :) ]

6. Firmly believe and serve whoever is dependent on you with full dedication and happiness and by thinking that GOD has given opportunity to serve.
[ Notice even if you dont think like this you are supposed to serve them but if you go with this mind set you will be more happy and cultivate more happines in others too. Which one you think is good ? ]

Thanks,
Hi Friends,

Since i am focused on learning new things along with the way of learning itself, i think i should share some things that helped me in my life.

As many say learning is an art. Yes thats really true.
When we were kids we all learned very fast and still we remember what we learned. But how about some things that we learned in Engineering ? We forgot ? Yes mostly.

Friends learning has following art.
Exposure
You need to get some exposure as what is there to learn.

Engagement and experience
You will need to start building relationship with others, books, materials to get learning exposure felt and engaged constantly.

Accelerate
Now its time you need to start running when you learnt how to move your legs by step-1&2

Stop & reconcile
Its time you pause for some time, recap what you did and how did you do it. Also, what it takes to get some thing done. Also, try to now remove every thing what you built and start building once again to see if you can build it again or not.

Friends, i dont explain it too much unless any pointed questions from you but will quote an example which is worth of 1000 words.

"When we were kids elders taught us to make aeroplane with paper, but we were not happy we removed paper many times and prepared aeroplane ourself and we did fast too. Also we took some time to use, play, create again and again and master it".

Do you see a learning art in this example ?

Some time back i started analyzing how as a manager i need to work with Technical leads, Architects, individual contributors, program managers etc. Since learning is never ending still i have some point where i understood some things which i can share.

Manager with Architects

I dont want to drag my writing here to explain manager roles and architects roles. Rather just explain how they work with each other to be effective in products delivery. My approach to explain this is by using START DOING, STOP DOING, CONTINUE DOING type of method.

Start Doing ( For manager roles )

Know the best ways to keep your focus and architects focus on the same goal of getting best design or architecture prepared for the product.

Keep your direction of work and architects direction of work different as not to clash with each other but yet be focused on same goals or end results.

Challenge architects to come out with multiple plans than straight away start accepting initially itself.

Know your decision making places and be prepared to handle that.

Socialize with multiple peers, architects from different groups not to get solution but get perspectives and capabilities of architects.

Create a stake holder group who can work with you by getting into architecture mindset to help in handling architects proposals, arguments, approaches.

Keep management goals clear with architects to get what you desire into products at very high level.

Try to broaden scope of product at initial stage so that architects come from broader picture instead of starting with small picture and end up in patching up to meet high levels later.

Many a times architects finds lots of tools, technology, frameworks, libraries available outside which any one who has awareness can suggest. Instead of straight away accepting these you should be capable of putting infront of them high level needs which can be satisfied by various things available off the shelf.

Challenge architects to build frameworks than just bring some thing through Google search or by knowing from other teams. These off the shelf frameworks many a time does not solve the problem that you are trying in the product, rather you will end up in resourcing to solve problems in the frameworks and using them.

Make sure that your architects understand the problems to solve rather than getting some things from off the shelf and going and presenting its ability etc.

Also, understand architecture or job of architects is not to find a framework available outside to suggest and keep forcing team to use it. Rather they have to solve business problems by appropriate elements that constitute the product and suggest best available stuffs to re-use or make or buy.

Stop Doing ( For manager roles )

Never keep decision making for every thing with architects as finally as manager you need to know why you are building product and how the product needs to be.

Never single handed go for war with architects on technology stuffs. Rather you should be prepared with stake holders who will put forth the point infront of them which makes sense rather me or you kind of fight modes.

You never involve too much in dictating which framework to use, where should be button placed, what should be color of application etc. Rather dictate at high level and keep getting those things done. How to get things done is what is your role here.

No question comes for you making technical decision unless you are prepared to have end-to-end technical insight, risk taking, managing it through out implementation.

Stop doing making decisions about color, text box, saying this is what users will love in our product etc. Rather challenge what best they can make and who says this is really good.

Stop wasting your time in going hand in hand with architects on each things they do, rather keep checking and aligning them with what business end goals you have and how they are meeting them regularly.

No question comes for you to decide and finalize or put stamp on User interface designs, interfaces, services model, database design unless you really have made lots of decisions as customer for various products being in these mindsets. Rather have a squad prepared who can help you in validating and giving inputs and take those inputs in right way to convey for further improvements.

Stop being pleased with architects or leads who come and explain you some solution available outside the market saying we should use it. Do you really understand what they have analyzed in them ? Do you know have they put angle of product that you have visualized or your customers have visualized to say "Yes" to it ?

Stop just promoting culture of "search in google and do some study and propose it" kind of mentality in the team or architects. Architects are not those people who simply keeps awareness about latest frameworks, libraries, tools and free stuffs available in web to bring to your project? Rather they should be capable of building their own frameworks which contains foundation blocks that are used in open source products or frameworks.

Stop saying immediate "yes/great" to frameworks proposed which are off the shelf for your product. Rather keep your architectural foundation blocks explained to architects and now explain how its been satisfied by proposed ones.

Continue Doing ( For manager roles )

Continue in managing risks.

Continue your relationships build with various architects, leads, engineers outside.

Keep doing socialization with peers or other product managers to know strength of their product and architecture fundamentals and ground rules used in them.

Keep team challenged with do best than pulling their legs or working in their levels to put further unwanted compition.

Continue to provide impression to your team that your vision, strategy, customer relationships, influence on stakeholders is much higher or stronger than them, so that they will not un necessarily play wrong roles.

Each customer meeting needs to be coordinated, regulated and your team should be brought awareness about what should be accepted or not. For this keep doing good management processes and start bring every one into that process. Else customer will directly talk to architects, engineers, leads to convince his/her needs and make product moving in wrong direction or loose priority and contols.

Hope this is useful. Write me back as comments to this post if you have some more useful information/experience to be shared with world.
Most young minds today are more attracted towards things that are proven through science only or there is belief in other countries. At the same time they also have lots of questions as why to believe in our own philosophy and things that are told to be true or proven but not in science way.

But most importantly if you ask question to any young person today as why oursource of jobs happening to India ?

Ans1 : Lots of young talent who are willing to adopt to different things and work for others
Ans2 : Cost effectiveness

But when some one is branding us as talent why ourself we are not realizing our own talent which can yield lots of innovations ?

Ok let us say that we understood our own talent now, next question comes what we innovate? what we will learn to innovate ?

For these things only today every kid is forced to talk English and learn english. English is not a great language as you see most of the countries dont even learn english but are much ahead of India today.

If you think for some time and question as why some one said in the past in our own country that "God is energy" ? Did this make you to think or ask more question and work towards making it true ?

No we said that its foolishness to even think that there is existence of GOD !!! So further no questions comes. But we can believe in atom which most of us have not seem but science said it is there.

But taking lots of knowledge from us lots of things are today invented by other countries and they are selling back the solutions to us only and hence there is outflow of money and talent as well.

Dont you think you ancistors also were as intelligent as you and simply they cant accept each and every thing that is said ? ( else we would have not had many casts today !!! ).

My suggestion to young mind is that, give time innovate and file patents based on knowlege that is available within our history, society, culture and our granthas. Put in language that we want say Sanskrit then whole word will tell their kids to learn sanskrit. No wonder in it.

Young people need to understand presence of ourself and feel others to see our presence in the world.

So read, invent, patent and make things locally and make India a great country.

Last to conclude with an example of today young generation mindset:
"We belive and celebrate velentines day but we dont belive in Raksha Bandhana saying its foolishness to tie a tag to brother and make it as festival"

Madhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29585682.post-77565841465477093722014-02-18T11:00:00.000+05:302014-02-18T11:00:04.538+05:30When people start building respect about you

"I am having an idea to start my own advertisement application"

The above statement is an example:
General human tendency makes every one to talk to their known people about what they are doing and how are they doing new things or regular jobs.

This also will be having intention to clear off some doubts, seek some guidance and encouragement(unofficial).

How you react to this is what going to build your image and trust and respect for you.

Wondering how to behave now ?

Let me explain how some one usually reacts unless he knows what is his role.

1. Go and check this might be already available.
2. Do some thing better than this
3. What you will do with all these better focus on work at hand.
4. This will not work.
5. Do you know in and out of it ?
6. it needs lots of investments think more about it.

Most of the above words would make person to stop at these points rather keep moving or evolving.
You as well as the person who came to you know that things cannot be done in one day or short period of time. Every thing has to evolve and there has to be proper evolution plan. With these words neither you or person got any benefit and things may stop here itself.

Rather if you do like this:
1. Good to know that you have idea on current trends.
2. (if its already old trend then say) Good to know that you are renovating or creating some thing that exists probably to suite today trends or future trends !!! nice go ahead and explain.
3. I am really eager to understand how is your idea and how nice it does in the field.
4. Go ahead and start writing all information you get on this and meet me.
5. Hey!!! here is some connected information i got from news paper or from my old book, check if it can help you. ( HELPING HAND )
6. How is progress ? ( Curious to know how things are going on )
7. Dont drop in the middle even if its not worth do it with limited time and money investment.
8. Dont invest huge until you know how things are and how they get placed.
9. Connect with people who may further provide you insight into the market trends.
10. Here are some contact who were searching for some help in similar area, help them and build your network and see if they fund this project.

These type of words will always encourage and motivate person who has started some thing new( probably new to him and may not be new to the world or others ).

By doing this you are indirectly doing :
1. Streching your helping hands.
2. Gaining insight into some area where you cant invest time and free knowledge.
3. You are partnering with some one freely with out any investments it will return money or some thing else to you for sure.
4. You are bridging people connection which is more valuable.
5. You are participating in some thing where outcome can do better to society or industry.
6. You are solving one person problem by providing contacts to others and hence win-win situations.
7. finally when people are going to be successful or at least move forward they will remember your contributions.
8. This will build your credits for any future growths.

Background:

Society is getting worst and worst every day from all angles. Really if we look at ourself we have downgraded our social living status in hurry and are unhappy at the end.

No doubt we have become rich and have lots of opportunities in front of us to be well being. But there are elements that are inspiring our generations to lead some things which does not suite the quality life.

Role of serials in TV:

Today most of the women at home are used to lots of serials. Most of the serials are inspiring women with bad thoughts and we can see that easily. Easy to learn skills for fooling around the family, escape from responsibilities, fight silently(cold war) with other women in or outside the family and take revenge, go to any extent to achieve things, self dignity, low tolerance, careless towards society and women kind, low quality dressing.

So over all is it entertaining, motivating, helping to build any quality society ?
In My opinion NO!!! NO!!! NO!!!

Role of Adds:

Today most of the adds are making use of women as marketing object. Put a poster with nudity it will catch eyes of public and sell a product. I dont think to advertise a bathroom fitting needs a women with out cloths taking bath and this picture hanging all our the places in big 10x10 feet banners ?

So overall are adds making any thing positive to society ?
In My opinion NO!!! NO!!! NO!!!

Like this movies, books, comics, cartoons, youtube ...

What is essential :

We need to understand the impact of all these in downgrading society today.

Be bold to produce one movie or serial where you show a family living happily, realistic, connected to each other, still grow the family to good extent.

Write books that just not sell but will sell growth of society through it and yet make money.

Dont show bad parts of the culture, cast or any thing that matter by enlarging it so that public get a wrong inspiration.

Motivate with act, thoughts, movies, books, serials, advertisements to show case what is grand culture and healthy society.

Hope we can build tomorrow for India or World with this.

Background

Today most of us do lots of functions and also attend functions but how many times we think what makes the function successful ?

Yaatra

(Trip to holy places - focus on Gnana Karya only)

When we take Yatra(Travel to holy places) do we think in advance about what makes our Yatra successful and why are we going and how are we going to be performing activities over there which can be related to success ? If these are not done then Yatra is almost like waste of Time, Money and energy.

In short: Yatra is done for earning more knowledge and the knowledge about GOD and about place.

Stop

Not setting goal for success of Yatra in advance.

Worried about high class stay

Thinking about only food

Lots of planning about purchases

Of course planning about Donation(giving money to holy place in the form of any listed rituals performance or a donation)

Never spend too much time on reading news paper, talking about politics and politician, films, sports etc etc

Start

Think how best you can change your living(comfort zone) style for few days but plan for shelter of course. (Never think about A/C rooms, TV, this and that always)

Think what type of physical activity you are going to do during the stay so that mind and body both get relaxed and also can benefit a lot.

Know that GOD loves who performance dharma and not the one who can donate more, so least bothered about donations and doing high class listed items.

Put yourself into best possible practices during the stay so that you get good positive energy and also create a positive energy.

Most important: Know about place, know how to worship, know about history and also about GOD whom you are going to worship.

Read as much about place and GOD rather news papers, else you will loose purpose of trip and also will not get Samyak gnana also you get into same mindset, same upset mood and same botheration about daily happenings around you rather enjoying and breaking out of all these road breaks of your life enjoyment.

Change your attitude, look around things positively from adaptive perspective so that you enjoy the change, diversity, the great life style that you have will be recognized and hence you feel satisfied about trip and also what you have in life.

Never pollute minds, place and also culture.

Festival

We celebrate many festivals today as part of Indian diverse culture. But today if we really look at the way how we perform festivals it almost connected with food, crackers, lighting etc.
But really you need to think what is the purpose of the festival and what can make you more happy.

In short: Focus more on learning what is a festival all about, build that good knowlege this will not only help you but will help next generation to really enjoy more and be within boundary of best ecosystem.

Stop

Don't waste time & money in crackers firing, you are polluting your surrounding for no much fun.

Is the success around the festival is really related to food that you prepare ? is it not at all possible to have such food any other day ?

Making noise, playing loud records, dance etc

Disturbing others

Start

Understand why festivals are created first

Why specific steps are provided, why a special food is explained in the history.

How to celebrate festival itself is a big learning and gnana.

What you do during these festival days to break out from your regular life style, worries, problems, issues etc we need to learn.

How to build a good eco system, personal relationship are more focused areas of festivals.

Analogy

Given a conference or workshop or seminar etc in an organization as a similar event to Yatra or festival in real life do these events more focused on Food ? Fun ? Dance ?

Food, fun and may be other activities are also part of these but more importance is given to "Gnana" or new learnings, new knowledge, socializing with each other, building relationships and hence moving upward in the knowledge stream.

"A person who give knowledge is greater than a person who gives food, as food can make you happy one time but knowledge forever".

"So, convert each of our festival, yatra, function into a knowledge forum and Gnana Karya"

Madhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29585682.post-74148760664895365992013-07-23T21:59:00.003+05:302013-07-24T09:23:28.457+05:30System that is backed up with innovative engine

We all read that rupee value is down and going down every day, all prices are increasing, also well aware that government is down with fever and cannot think of solving these problems through various media sources. But what are the ways where other countries are doing better and getting out of bad situations ?

So here is what i think might be useful ...

Recollect if you have closely observed some one who was in trouble or tough time and coming out now as winner, so that this writing will look meaningful to you.

In one of the articles of Businessworld 15 July 2013, I read that country like USA is more powerful and can go through tough times as many times as it can come because of "its belief in hustling culture, institutions that support entrepreneurs that innovate and education system". This inspired me to think about what is going well with these developed countries and their systems to write this article.

Also, while referring to Mahabharata i could find that there is lots of stress being given to knowledge coming out from various institutions, research which government can use for social welfare and protecting economy, culture, and people.

As per my knowledge is there any institution or organization or business gaint that has any powerful decision making with government ? No.

Unless lots of investment happens in this line where contineous reaserch and innovation happen by lots of private or public-private institutions to work on economic reforms, social status upgrades, investments, guidelines etc it would be tough to handle various situations of crisis.

Background:

As a technical leader i too have made many mistakes and some learning out of it, which would save you in your role.

Technical leader role:
As a technical leader you are expected to be first a technical best implementor or coder and then lead the technology or technical stuffs at work so that projects success rate is high, benefits to end users.

As part of this you will be doing:

Coding

System analysis and design

Project management

Technology direction

Problem solving

Simplification of the technology

Ideation

Innovation etc and many

The organization at the end of any thing that you are doing above and beyond, looks at what you have delivered on your own along with leading others.

Following are the area where i am sharing my learnings

Ideation

Expectations as deliverable:
You are expected to generate idea on simplification of product, make product better for end customers, process simplification, automation, fault detection at workflow etc.

How to do it:

Work on idea not as separate task, rather your area of interest and when you are free from load.

Never explain the idea at its begin phase itself to many as it will set lots of expectations and watch on you. If you fail you are caught or proved wrong.

Make your idea in a presentable form, read a lot about ingredients of the idea to make it product or mockup

Proceed towards quick mock up preparation if easy prototype it else mockup of its look and feel and usage

Never share your ppt until you move towards mockup or prototype preparation or give out complete idea, else idea may be used by others.

Once you have mockup or prototype then explain to crowd and share information only relevent to the crowd type ( only technical persons or managers, customers etc ).

Always think of what is known as deliverable at the end of this effort as only "deliverables" are counted in your technical role.

Problem Solving

Expectations as deliverable :

You are expected to give clear definition of the problem and then have solutions proposed or implemented.

How to do it:

Firstly be focused on any deliverable assigned to you before jumping into the problem and solution.

Get clarification from management as who will own this problem to solve.

Know clear expectation from you by your boss as some time only analysis of the problem is required by you or end-to-end solution is needed itself.

Try to understand the problem correctly to the depth and keep it to you alone until you prove it.

Try to be as fast as possible based on the problem type and its severity

Involve your boss and set your expectations rightly on help that you need from boss.

If you are sure, then make confirmation on your problem understanding and propose next steps and wait for boss signal

Use required communication and dont just wait on emails during such times as you need to succeed and be faster

If too many obstacles from others then indicate to management and seek their help clearly(talk to management separately and explain situation and help requirements clearly dont write email and wait for reply for long).

Never keep giving ideas of problem solving to others and you be at non receiving end of benefits.

Will stop here itself to keep the story short.

Summary:

Dont freely give out idea as leader(as some one else will make solution and deliver it and its upto them to give credit or hold for themself)

Dont give out your priority or expected work item just becuase you are leader and have to solve all problems on earth that your team is facing.

Never give out solution when you feel that it is your ability also to solve the problem on own and you have time for it. Make use of it and solve the problem on your own. it will give best quality, quick solution, a deliverable into your credit also most important is touch with implementation of the solution( no need separate interview preparation hehehehe ).

Share or deliver information only as needed by receipients or if asked. Never explore complete solution, idea or technical complexity etc. Some time you can also make statement like "keeping audiance into consideration i will go and explain only business benefits of the idea or solution etc by hiding technical innovation or core stuff"

As a leader still you are a technical member focus on what best you can deliver at the end and also spend some amount of time to make team successful.

Never try to solve each and every problem that your technical team bring to you. Push back, make them work, learn on own. If any such member working under your leadership keep them away when they are solving simple problems.

Let me explain what i have understood about GIT recently:

Purpose:

The purpose of this article is to explore few business values that GIT provides in collaboration space for contineous development process. Not going to cover commands in detail, git basics, git architecture etc as they are available in many websites today.

Values that GIT brings to product Development:

Agile process

Most of the companies today are working in agile methodology and process. Agile is fully complete in implementation only when the tasks are completed and available for others to execute their tasks on top of it. This give incremental code to development team and hence continuous development is realized.

Without GIT:
Each task finally has to be coded by task owner and then code need to be committed to repository so that others can refresh workspace and work on modified code with their tasks. If we take clearcase, CVS, SVN and many other SCM systems this needs each change to be committed to the development branch only with no other choice. The development branch has overhead of contineous integration and builds which should be ensured up to the stability, so developers or leads need to manage this as well apart from technical work and is an overhead.

With GIT:
With GIT you can pull code from the development branch and create our own branches in the local workspace and then commit changes and pass on the commit information or branch information to next task owner so that a simple pull of this soruce code will help to develop next task coding and also will help to ensure that local builds are fine with multiple tasks. This automatically can ensure that development branch stability. The code pull is very fast and hence less time taken.

Easy to setup

This is where you will get most of the benefits. Turn any existing directory into repository and provide details of the server to your colleague so that they can start with their development work with out even reaching to development branch. This helps to quickly create repository and start a collaborative development work and also tracking them through the Version control system.

Breaking out of traditional SCM system, yet being in the system

This is most critical one as per my analysis to impact most of the business benefits. As an engineer or a team member one cannot break the SCM system that is put across by the organization from various purposes and point of view, and processes defined. Also, it is tough to change the SCM systems often as there is lots of labor work and process involvement and teaching needed. This stops use of any other available powerful tools by the engineers to be more productive and collaborative while they do development work.

One popular example:

There is already CVS being setup within the project and you know limitations of CVS and want to make use of GIT.

Solution: this is as simple as checkout the code from CVS, turn your checkout place into GIT workspace and get proceed with GIT development model and collaborative development work.

Summary:

Overall apart from

1. performance,

2. the way version control system model is implemented by GIT.

It is also powerful VSM(Version control System)

1. For agile kind of development model

2. Break out from regular SCM system with less time and yet do develop code through GIT

3. Create repository, sharing code becomes very easy and yet protected.

4. Rebasing the workspace with different branch to find diff etc are also quite easy which most of the other SCM systems are lacking today.

Hope this helps in one or other ways. More questions please drop me a comment here.

Most of us know Sri Raghavendra Swamiji as Kamadhenu of this era( Brindavan at Mantralaya ).
There are temples of Sri Raghavendra swamiji(knows as Raghavendra swami math) all over India.

Most of the devotees also know history, life and also the blessings that they can get from swamiji.
But, when it comes to the Swamiji to explain about their power which they are distributing to all devotees, here is what they said in one line.

"Haripad kanj nishevanalabdha samastu sampata"

MEANING:
Complete Sampat means earning(Jnana, Bhakti, Vairagya and other sampat and power) all I got by worshiping Lord Sri Hari.

With this line i just want to explain few important messages given out by Swamiji for mankind.

1. It shows that great people life is open and also they share the secrets of their power and positions.

Also, this type of sharing source of power gives a message to all of us as well. The message is simple "Know the roots of donation".

2. Today if you are getting donation, funds or help please be aware of from whom you are getting help or money or food and also how did they earn it !!!

Does that sound strange to you ? mostly Yes.

3. We need to know from where some one earn money and donating today. If the person from whom we get blessings, money/food/shelter is earning through wrong deeds then surely this type of donation will make us suffer in the life. Also this type of earning by us, will put us indirectly into the path of wrong deeds. This type of money/food will not even come long way with us and help us to achieve happiness.

4. One need to know the sources of any earning and then if possible put them self in that good way so that they can also earn and help others who are in trouble.

Note: Any earning that Sri Raghavendra Swamiji has got is all distributed to those who come to them and worship them.

Hence, Sri Raghavendra Swamiji provides information on source of their power or earnings like this.

Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamiji also convey a message to worship his Guruji ( Sri Madanand Teertharu / Sri Madhwacharyaru ) --> Sri Laxmi Narayana(supreme lord) as he do still worship his Guru parampara and Lord Vishnu always.

Why to do prayers, help others, do good things etc ? So, lets enjoy life with out caring much about these.

"But, there is always a belief that, if we did bad things in our previous life, because of which we are getting bad results in this life, then its good to realize that we need to do good things in this life to get better results next time."

But this is easy to say, very difficult to make others understand. Because we can always say like "Who has seen what will happen in our next life", that is why i took performance appraisal as comparable topic to explain and convince.

Let me put few questions,
1. If you have got good appraisal does that mean you did great at Present or Past ?
2. If you have got bad rating does that mean today you are not doing good?

If you answer these 2 questions there is common answer - rating == The work that we did in past year.

But, after getting good/bad ratings will you again work hard for better rating for next year. ( or do you ask question -> next year ??? who has seen what will happen next year ??? )
No, you try to work hard and do as best as possible to get better ratings. Same is "Karma & Karma Phala"

Submit good deeds to GOD vs. appraisal
-------------------------------------------
All epics says - submit all your good deeds to GOD and keep bad things to yourself but try minizing bad things.

But, many people have asked questions like this -
"If GOD helps us to do good or bad then why to submit only good things to god why not bad things?"

In short answer to this question would be like this -
"If you have done X good projects and and Y - bad projects, while doing appraisal do you say you did X good things and Y bad things ?"

This means we are only eligible for benefits in life or organization if we have done some thing good to mankind or to organization respectively. But, always try to reduce bad things so that you will submit more good things and get more good results.

Happy blogging and reading.

Cheers
Madhavarao Kulkarni
Cisco Systems BengaluruMadhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29585682.post-171885715852410912009-01-30T13:59:00.009+05:302009-01-31T17:31:01.060+05:30Best way of doing the work - lessons from Sri RamayanaHi All,

There are some good skills one should get equipped with as early as possible in life.
The tools i am going to explain here are from lessons i have learned from Sri. Ramayana from a knowledgeable guru.

These tools not only help you in performing the work, but are also way to succeed, get recognized and get best benefits out of the work.

Tool - 1 : Strength
One should know what [s]he can do and what [s]he cant do. Whenever there is a work to be done we should always judge it based on our strengths.

Example: In Sri. Ramayana, when King Sugriva ask all "Vanaras" about who will be taking a long jump of a sea to reach Srilanka which is of 100 Yojana in width.

At this point of time, every vanara starts giving a hint of their strength to King, as below
One of them said, he can cover 10 Yojana, another one 20 Yojana, and then Angada a senior vanara told he can jump complete ocean but he may not be possessing capacity to return back,.

Tool -2 : Never loose your heart
Some times we feel we may not be able complete given task, and we think of dropping the work when its half done. But its characteristic of a good worker that, irrespective of success or failure try till last minute.

Example: King Sugriva makes a order, that within 30 days he should hear back from Vanaras, the news about Sita mata else they will be killed. But till 29th day even after lots of hard work, vanaras could not trace location of Sita mata. Then they all decide instead of getting death sentense from King, they shoud commit suicide... During that situation Sri Hanuman tells them that still we have one more day to go, and there is no rule that result of a task or work always completes in time!!!, this motivation makes Vanaras to keep up hope and they will find traces of Sita mata within one day.

Tool -3 : Never show up that you are too big
Many times after a small achievement we feel ourself a great personality. But its characteristic of great people to not show it up. They still struggle to become great.

Example: When Sri. Hanuman jumps back from Srilanka to India, he could have reached directly to the place of Sri. Rama to give information about Sitamata, but instead he reaches Vanaras who were working with Sri. Hanuman for searching Sitamata. He reaches that team with objective of appreciating the team first and go along with the team to Sri. Rama to show that together with others he could succeed in his work not just that he only did every thing. ( but in Sri. Hanuman case, he was one and only one in Rama bhaktas who was capable and who did every thing, but he never tried to show that he is so big personality ).

Example: In another incident when Ravan finds Sri. Hanuman very powerful army of Sri. Rama when Hanuman destroys 1/4th of Ravana's army strength. Ravana asks Sri Hanuman, like you how many soldiers does Sri. Rama has in army? Sri Hanuman replies back saying i am the only least experienced and least strength army men in Sri. Rama team. ( He should have told that he is the only powerful person in the team, but he tried putting things in nicer way so that he cannot call himself as great ).

I am just trying to put my little understanding infront of you and submitting it to lord Sri.Rama.

Thanks,
Madhava
madhavabk@gmail.comMadhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29585682.post-999800508852037702007-09-23T21:38:00.000+05:302007-09-23T22:01:46.483+05:30Nice example on: What you take away from this eternal worldHi All,

Today while listening to a guru i got this new good example.

His talk was on following thing.
We alway cheat, want to come up in life by doing whatever possible without thinking what we take away from all this in this eternal world.

He says, when students gets admission to a school or college and when he completes it, he will not take chairs, furniture, computers, even some time books.... but the only thing that he takes ( or things that go with him) from school or college for his life is outcome of education i.e. knowledge.

Hence we have to achieve the one that comes with us even after this life. That is knowledge and results of our good deeds.

This is what is said:-
"Madadi baralu, makkalu bararu,
Kanchu Kannadi baaradu"

Meaning:
During death time, wife, children and things that we have purchased will not come with us.

I hope its a good information.

Thanks,
MadhavaMadhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29585682.post-33852122142921730872007-07-03T14:03:00.000+05:302007-12-21T16:47:14.212+05:30Ownership, rewards and good work == ( quality = work )
Hi All,

I feel this write up may tell some story which we all see every day but have not felt it correctly.
This is the story what is happening in India around our IT business.

The conclusion is that, the low quality if there in our work then it means that the following story is true.

Consider similar case here. There is a construction going on for a huge building and millions of rupees is being spent on it, and it has given employment to huge labors, suppliers and builders. Each labor will be having his dream of life to construct at least a small house for his family and do some thing great in construction work.

But once the construction is over whose dream will be true?
Its only dream of builder and owner of the building who have millions of money to spend. What about dream of labors???

In reality its the labor who does lots of work and its his magic because of which a building can take good shape and quality. In India i hope there was no separate concept of quality in work. Our ancestors believed that the work what they do is done with full attention and with complete dedication and with lots of spirit. So quality was bi-product of work, in other words quality and work no difference. Look at any ancient monuments they are all done with good quality, but now if you look at any building what is the level of quality???

Since the labor is not assured in his life what he is dreaming for he cannot give full attention to work and will not be working whole heartedly. So quality gets separated out of the work. If you ask him why he is working he says "For getting 2 meals per day and for dream to have his own small house at the end of his life".

Same situation is there with IT engineers in India. MNCs put millions of dollars in India to achieve what they want and our own people who act as builders, suppliers etc make lots of money/career with out leaving behind any thing to engineers because of whom things are being done. Since many projects in India are having lots of junk work like bug fixing, maintainance, support etc and engineer cannot take away any thing apart from some good salary. As in above case this kind of work coming to India create employment, suppliers, Indian MNC etc but what about workers with out whom things cannot move a bit. Since the work is not to the satisfactory most of the engineers have concluded that "they have to work for money" as they cannot make their career in life. Similar to labor, engineer also says " i work for taking an apartment, having car and costly gadgets", he will never say that "i am working to do some great achievements".

Hence there is the problem with the way how things are coming to India, and believe me, its our own people who are not willing to push good things down to their own country for which clients will not be having objections.

There is a need of some courageous people who really bring good work to India and make our dreams true.

If you talk about quality then need to give good work to employees, give them ownership of good work, encourage them with rewards and give right work to right person. Then there is no need of separate word like quality.......

Thanks,
Madhava
Madhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29585682.post-56313218904435978762007-06-22T10:29:00.000+05:302007-06-22T14:36:39.534+05:30Ultimatly he is called as "food server in Hotel" only
Hi All,

Recently i had gone to a team outing to some hotel in Bangalore. The hotel was very posh, with all employees speaking in American accent, and neatly dressed and were working in A/C rooms.

Slowly when we started to check what to order and found many small items with high prices.
And i started thinking that OK this kind of taxing on customer makes the employees do neat work. Customer as he is getting good salary can afford to pay more for all these things and feels that he is great. But the truth behind all these is employee in that hotel is treated as "food server in hotel" only, not as qualified person by customer or by hotel owner since he speaks good English. The respect( or benefit ) to employee comes only by the way what he does, and on what he works for long term. And apart from speaking in English and showing him look like qualified person he is nothing else than "a food server in hotel".

When i compared same thing to IT industry to my surprise things look same. Companies ( Hotel ) gets lots of project from customers ( who are rich basically ), and prepare employees ( kind of food servers in hotel ) speaking polish English and look dignified with good pay. So most of employees will not be happy as they know the reality soon.

The employees will not be doing any great work, rather speaking good English and getting paid good. Still they are kind of getting the junk work ( junk projects ) that customers hate to do.

Its like a rich owner keeping servants for each small works like washing cloths, cleaning utensils by paying more and making himself concentrate on core work that he is supposed to do.

Hence the work given out to such people will be of no-rewarding work for their career.

So now companies should think on pulling good work to India rather managing people from on-site and pushing junk work to people over here. Else at the end these companies will remain as hotels which will get closed once rich people stop coming to them. At that point of time think of employees? They will be left out with out any expertise in any area. At the end of the job even they will not find that they have done some thing.

This particular point is killing lots of inventions that are supposed to come out from India as India have very good pool of intellectual properties.

thanks,
Madhava
Madhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29585682.post-54637592298061479512007-04-12T15:30:00.000+05:302007-04-13T14:06:02.458+05:30Who is Dr. Rajkumar, what to take away from him

Hi All,

Its been one year today Karnataka and India has lost one best personality.
Yes, its already one year Dr. Rajkumar passed away.

When we talk about software development, cricket, process etc, we always use one common word, that is worlds best practices.

Many Indian IT companies are known for their success in best processes, people management, customer satisfaction because they could understand and apply worlds best practices in their companies.

Similarly as a human being we should also apply worlds best practices to our life and make ourself successful while marching towards our life's goal.

While thinking on this line, i could remember one such personality whom we have seen, and was between us not as actor but as best personality.

Yes i am talking about Dr. Rajkumar of Karnataka Film Industry.

Who is Dr. Rajkumar?
1. He is one of the successful personalities in India.
2. More than actor, he was known because of his good personal values.
3. Simple living, hard working, disciplined, well behaved person.

What we can take away from him?
Here i am writing attribute of Dr. Rajkumar's personality and comparing it with us and organizations. I am taking organization into consideration as we all always think and discuss about companies success stories, work under its policies, hear about new goals etc.

Hardworking:
----------------
Dr. Rajkumar:

He was hard working in nature. He tried to do best of best what he can do in acting or singing and showed us that such kind of goal oriented hard working will yield success to self as well as to those who are investing(producer) on him.
Organizations:
All Services oriented companies say this mantra "Our success lies in success of our customers", it means that we have to work hard to grow by ourself and get success and also make investors successful while they trust in us.

Ourself:
We have to put lots of effort in whatever fields we are working in so that we can achieve some thing in our life and also make profit to those who believe in us or investing in us.
This means we should work hard towards achievement of our goals as well as family, organization goals etc.

FOCUS:

Dr. Rajkumar:
He was completely focused on what he wanted in his life and what he can achive. This is very difficult. This happens only when you can understand yourself and your capabilities. He was only focused on becoming successful personality in film industry. Hence he could master art of acting, singing by learning it from many experts in respective fields. Unlike other actors he did not enter into politics, charity shows etc.

Note: Many people might have questions like why he did not do any thing for charity etc? Please see last para for this question.

Organizations:
Orgnizations always work on basis of mission, goal and objectives, they never cross that, hence they can achieve desired results. An IT company alway focus on its main stream of products, and never tries to deviate from it and start producing some thing else.

Ourself:
We need to understand what we want to achieve and focus on that work rather diverting our energy into unwanted things. While we are in college we should always focus on learning rather doing some fashion shows etc in front of faculties. Rather investing time in what others are doing we should invest time in what ourself can do. This gives back some thing to ourself and also to the community.

Responsible:

Dr. Rajkumar:
He was knowing that being an actor he is responsible for culture of the society. Today we know that what impact films have on society and culture. The dressing sense, speaking style, riding bike every thing depends how their favorite actor or actress does in movies. So Dr. Rajkumar was only actor who was aware of these things, hence you cannot find any movies in which he has done smoking, drinking and ugly behavior with women or seniors.

Organizations:
For any failure in clients success or market companies always believe that they are responsible for it. And also companies try to run on policies, rules etc laid out by government or unions so that they are responsible in bringing healthy competition or culture across industry.

Ourself:
We should know what we are doing and be responsible for making society good. The way how we dress, the way how we speak, how we ride bike, how we behave infront of others etc influence our new society. So if we all believe in doing good to ourself then automatically society will be good.

Now, let us ansewer your question:

Many people might have questions like why he did not do any thing for charity, why he did not donate money to charity work etc?

Ans:
Let me tell you simple rule. A person will invest his money out only when he has more money that he may need at a particular point of time. Dr. Rajkumar was not charging producers a huge amount for acting. There are many instances where he has done acting with out taking money. He has not taken single rupee for singing for any devotional or petriotic songs albums. When he worked like this he used to earn money sufficient to his life. So there is no question of donating some big amount to charity shows etc.

Today many ( not every one ) actors, politicians, business tycoons donate lots of money to charity work to save tax, mane black money white or as they get access money. Many actors in various film industries charge crores together to the producers, so they can donate some money to charity work.

Dr. Rajkumar did his eye donation and donated good culture to the society they are great contributions from an individual to society.

Thanks,
Madhava
Madhavaraohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11313299863343447087noreply@blogger.com3
